Extended holidays matter. They give children time to rest, recharge and enjoy family life. But they can also lead to learning dips, reduced confidence and a loss of routine, particularly for Early Years and Primary learners.
At Edsidera, we created The Sunshine Squad to support schools and families during these breaks in a way that protects progress without creating pressure.
And in 2026, the Sunshine Squad is now available across all extended holidays.

This flexible model allows settings to support children at key points in the academic year, whether that is maintaining momentum before the final term, protecting progress over summer, or strengthening routines before January.
What Is The Sunshine Squad?
The Sunshine Squad is a flexible holiday achievement award for children aged 3 to 12.
It is designed to reduce learning loss and strengthen core skills without adding workload to teachers or pressure to families.
Children complete 10 engaging offline challenges during the holiday period. Each challenge is supported by short videos and PDFs via the Edsidera app. Children upload simple evidence and receive feedback from qualified educators.
It is: Holiday freedom. Academic strength. Zero pressure.
This is not holiday homework.
It is a guided holiday achievement award.
